Last Sunday, during the Nomads tournament in London, Graham Box announced the 14-player squad which will be taken to the IKF European Korfball Championships.

The WKA had appointed Graham Box as head coach earlier this year. He was faced with the task of selecting the strongest squad for the Europeans. The selection process started in February of this year with trials at House of Sport, Cardiff. Following these trials, 20 players were requested to attend further training sessions with the squad.

Now 3 months since the trials, Graham has narrowed it down to 14 players who will be going to Porto, Portugal and compete against the other European nations.

Female: Hannah Ager (Birmingham City), Carla Bennett (Norwhich Knights), Ruth Campbell (Bristol Thunder), Catherine Davies (Cardiff Dragons), Jonquil Nash (Manchester Warriors), Laura Pacey (unattached), Bethan Phillips (Birmingham City) & Julie Prosser (Cardiff City).

Male: Ramzi Barbir (Bristol Thunder), Luke James (Croydon), Kevin Jones (Manchester Warriors), Rick Scowcroft (Birmingham City), James Wilcox (Cardiff University), Nick Wilkins (Birmingham City) & John Williams (Nomads).

A final selection will be made to select 7 of the 8 female listed above. Meanwhile, the squad is looking forward to their next training which will be a training camp in the middle of July.
